Expected as an exercise in ink shading and crisscrossing, this artwork is inspired by one of the most recognized images of the Western culture, the painting Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.
With the intent of learning and looking not to interpret but rather replicate the same roiling energy and restless feeling as the night time sky of Van Gogh's picture, the drawing is set in a different theme: space.
The relaxed figure is meant to contrast with the rousing background. This is a contradiction to the reality, silence and stillness of the outer space, especially next to the human body.
